Pit Stop

breaking down barriers to success

Street Culture’s day program, Pit Stop, is an alternative school program for youth ages 15-18 aimed to support Ministry involved youth in acquiring valuable skills to build success in education, employment and independent housing. The Pit Stop program offers youth an opportunity to learn about themselves, acquire valuable life skills, gain work experience, and engage in pro-social activities. Pit is based off of the four areas of resilience in the Circle of Courage: Mastery, Generosity, Independence & Belonging. The Pit Stop program is not meant to be a school substitute, but rather support for eventual transition back into education and/or employment. Youth are referred to the Pit Stop program through the Ministry of Social Services.
